Before the end of 2016, I was able to visit one of the tourist spots in Nueva Ecija which is the Minalungao National Park. The national park is located at Sitio Minalungao, Brgy. Pias, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija.
Minalungao is from the term “Mina and “Lungao” meaning “mine of gold in caves” It is considered one of the few remaining natural environments in Central Luzon.
The National Park has a protected land area of 2, 018 hectares and is working together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The access road leading to the park from the town proper is classified as barangay Road. The Road from Barangay Pias to the park is good condition. It is also accessible via Gapan City.
This was the view I saw upon entering Minalungao National Park. Such a breathtaking view to see on an afternoon. Entrance fee was Php50 per person.
Besides sightseeing, there are other activities you can do at the national park like having a picnic, hiking, and ziplining.
Bamboo rafts could rented for a price of around Php300 (small) ro Php500 (big). With the bamboo rafts, you can be able to have your packed lunch on the river. Cottages are also available if you are not interested in using bamboo rafts.
The pathway on the right side, is the way going inside the cave.
The National Park closes at around 5pm since there is no electricity within the vicinity. Campers or those who want to have an overnight are not allowed inside the park. Using of restrooms has a fee of Php10.
Minalungao National Park could be the place you can visit if you would want to be away from the busy life in the city. The park has a peaceful vibe where you can enjoy and relax.
